Fields of Green

Have you ever felt like me
cast into the shadow
the oppressor reigning down
have you ever seen your fear
the darkness seeping in
tapping your emotions
wanting you to let it in
splitting you in two
the sweet scent of it's lust

I somehow find the strength
reaching in to pull it out
limping towards the throne
breathe, breathe, breathe
He speaks to me..
I've been waiting little one
what took you so long?

A beggar in rags before you Lord
His eyes did pierce my spirit
Grace abounding... cracks me to the ground
He speaks to me A motion
to turn and look down
my senses reaching back
at the catastrophe that did abound

wanting to let go
my weakness is yours alone
the fear that kicks and screams
as I stand and watch it bleed
Thank you Father you have set me free
standing in the veil
have you ever seen his face
breathe, breathe, breathe

as I lean upon my cane
looking back, so much has changed
the blessings still remain
walk on walk on
not so far off in the distance
reaching up, stretching out
I see the fields of green.
