First IssueWelcome to the first issue of the Sword's Edge, the official newsletter of the Bible Place. This newsletter will update you on the latest happenings at the Bible Place web site. Our first year on the net was exciting. During this period we had over 30,000 hits at the Bible Place. We look forward to sharing and providing more information to encourage the studying of God's Word during the coming year. Bible Place VisionBible Place was formed with a vision of placing the power of the internet to use for the Glory of God. Our primary goal is to promote and foster the study and understanding of the word of God. For all the evil that exists on the internet, there is a lot of good and more and more Christian organizations are placing resources on the internet. Many lives are being touched for the glory of God via the internet! Today, more and more Christians are accessing the internet as we move into the 21st Century. This is a natural evolution as families are purchasing computers as educational aids for their children. The Bible Place stands ready to assist you by providing you the information and knowledge you need to make the internet a little safer and a more beneficial experience, especially to those who are new to the use of computers and the internet. Email us your biblical, computer or internet questions and we will try to assist you (teacher@bibleplace.com). If you haven't visited the Bible Place in some time you will find that it has a fresh new look.
Bible Place is under constant updates and growth. Future expansion projects include online poetry reading, online testing for bible studies posted on site, and additional chat rooms located at the Bible Place.

How-To Bible Reading TipsRead our study booklet that gives how-to tips on reading the bible: Spiritual Growth: To Read the Bible or Not, That is the Question. This booklet teaches on: the bible being the true word of God, the differences in versions, bible reading patterns, choosing a bible, study methods and tips to understanding the word of God. If you've never read the Word of God, the bible, before this will give you all the information you need to get you started. If you are an avid bible reader, this will provide you with additional tips and insights on the bible. Learning to read the bible is just a mouse click away. Encouraging Bible ReadingThe most important thing a Christian can do to grow and come closer to the Lord is to start to read the word of God on a routine basis. The word of God is a life changing force. I really wish that churhes would place more emphasis on the reading and studying of the Word of God. Through personal obersavtions attending many churhces around the world over that past twenty years, I have concluded that this activity does not rank high on the list of priorities in most churches. This lack of interest in this vital activity really amazes me. To me, it shows that satan has done his job well in getting us to put our focus on everything but the word of God in everything from worship services to where it seems to affect us the most, in our daily lives. The passion, drive, and desire behind this web site (the heart of what we do here at the bible place) is to provide simple, how-to information that simplifies the reading and studying of the bible. Many times we are told what to do but not how to do it. Bible Place wants to teach the how-to on reading and studying the bible. My inspiration to start this web site started at a young age. I started reading the bible (picture version) around the age of 4 years old. It has always been a focus of my life through a commitment to a daily bible reading. When the Lord led and blessed me to start the Gospel (Inspirational) worship service at Tinker Air Force Base (Oklahoma City, OK) in 1989, it became quickly apparent that most of those in attendance had a limited knowledge of the word of God. The Lord prompted me that if we were going to be a spiritual force, everyone had to grow in him. The attitude of the service from the pulpit to the singing and choir rehearsals was one of encouragement to read, study and grow in the Word of God. It was then that the Lord touched me to start writing and providing study booklets to the congregation. True to His word, in 4 years we grew from an average attendance of 16 to 100 and the Lord blessed us in every aspect of our life.
